NIKKI SIXX: KAT VON D Told Me I Was The Love Of Her Life

September 7, 2010

MÖTLEY CRÜE/SIXX: A.M. bassist Nikki Sixxtold a photographer this past weekend that it's been "hard" to see his former girlfriend, 28-year-old tattoo artist Kat Von D (born Katherine Von Drachenberg) stepping out in public with motorcycle mogul and Sandra Bullock's ex-husband Jesse James.

When asked about his love life following his split with Kat, Sixx said, "I am single and focusing on my family, which is the most important thing."

Regarding his thoughts on Kat's involvement with James, Sixx said, "Well, you know, it's hard when you were just told by someone that you dated for two and a half years that you were the love of their life. And then they move on so quickly. But, you know, there's a lesson in all this."

He added, "I've always thought she was an amazing girl and I wish her nothing but the best."

Video footage of Sixx talking to a photographer about Kat can be viewed at TMZ.com.

In an August 12 posting on his MySpace page, Sixx wrote that MÖTLEY CRÜE's recently completed European tour was "one of the best times of my life." He added, "Not only were the crowds great but I also had such a wonderful time having Kat along with me for the whole tour. We soaked in [the] beautiful countrysides and foods together. Her new season of 'L.A. Ink' [the TLC TV show featuring Kat Von D] just premiered and for her to take time out of her equally busy life (including planning her book tour) was something I was just blown away by. I know a lot of [the CRÜE fans] got to meet her and that made her happy, too."

Sixx made an appearance in the premiere episode of the new season of "L.A. Ink". In the episode, Sixx and his radio co-host Kerri Kasem welcomed Kat to the Los Angeles radio studio for an interview on "Sixx Sense". Future episodes in season four of the top-rated television show will feature Sixx at Kat's High Voltage Tattoo in Hollywood as he gets a tattoo of his "Sixx Sense" radio logo by Kat.
